Every year we  get a rundown of the WardsAuto 10 Best Interiors. These are vehicles that do something special when it comes to the cabin.

Whether it be superb interior materials, fantastic layout, or a good overall design, WardsAuto always has a good reason why an interior is nominated and chosen for the publication’s award.

This year saw 40 interiors nominees. The cars that were nominated had to have “interiors that were all-new or significantly improved from the prior year,” according to WardsAuto. The publication was fast to note that there were even some interiors that didn’t receive nominations that pushed interior design boundaries.

The publication also noted the numerous colors several automakers used this year. This publication applauded this trait. “Thank you to all the interior designers who have been urging their bosses to take chances and try colors that are less predictable,” WardsAuto Senior Content Director Drew Winters said in the publication’s announcement of the winners. “We know a lot of consumers end up buying black, gray or beige interiors, but there are also a lot of shoppers who want more excitement. This year’s class of winners will make those folks happy.”

MotorTrend was quick to point out that seven of the 10 interiors that won were crossovers, which is a sign of the times. It’s also a trend that will likely continue as more crossovers come to market. Here’s a look at all 10 of the best interiors as identified by WardsAuto.
