Smog Laws Are Already Doing Their Job

Electric cars and hybrids are clean, responsible compromises to transport our daily lives into the next millennium. I bash them constantly, not because they’re inferior – but because they spell the ultimate demise of something I hold very dear to me: the gasoline engine.

I’m a muscle car guy, but I like tuners, low riders, racecars of all sorts and styles, and classics. I even like hybrids and EVs! Yup! That’s right; I find them fascinating, and the technology that we’re putting into the hands of the everyday consumer is mind-boggling! You can’t help but appreciate it for what it is.

Gas Is Almost Gone Already

But what it ultimately means is, our fossil-burning days are coming to a close (rather quickly), and there’s nothing we can do about it. Let’s face it; “clean” propulsion is the way of the future and the only foreseeable way to efficiently move people and products into the next century.

But the anti-gasoline attitude maintained by California politicians (and the general population) is ridiculous! LAY OFF IT ALREADY! Everybody knows we need to move ahead responsibly, and gasoline is phasing out at its own pace.

To criminalize one of the very components of an industrial powerhouse that gave you the lifestyle you enjoy today is preposterous! Gasoline revolutionized personal transport, pushed your land-locked feet high into a vast blue sky, and gave you the convenience of turn-key power on demand! If you hate it so much, go buy a horse and carriage, and tell me how that feels!
