What dads really want an SUV for? To get away faster from everybody at home or having fun with the kids on tricky trenches.

As stated earlier, the Mercedes big daddy cool SUV comes in two different sized motors. The inline-6 on the GLS 450 and the V8 on the GLS 580.

The in-line 6 offers 362 horsepower with a top speed of 130mph (209km/p). This because of an electronically limited top speed.

Both the 6 and the 8 comes with nine-speed automatic transmission, with an all-wheel-drive 4Matic drivetrain.

Besides the powerful motor, the SUV comes stacked with a mild 48-volt battery-aid.

This battery aids the hydropneumatic suspension, allowing you to cross between the three modes and allow for a better offroad experience. We’ll get to that later.
