Lotus Evora GT: What you see is what you get with the Evora – If not more
Comparing the Lotus Evora and the Lotus Evija is like comparing chalk and cheese. The former, “a not so sexy thing” as put by those at Top Gear. The latter, one of the most breathtaking designs created from endless imagination put into practice.
A supercharged V6, mid-engine 422hp Evora is reckoned to be the most practical car to get by Top Gear. The raving points about the new Evora are not only in performance enhancements the British company managed to upgrade but also how extra lightweight the bodywork of the car is.
"Practicality is not a sexy thing. Think about it: flip-flops versus stilettos, accountants versus stuntmen and compound interest versus winning big at the roulette table. There’s a certain lack of excitement in the sensible version, isn’t there? So where does that leave the Evora, unquestionably the most practical Lotus you can buy? Well, as far as we can tell, with the techs up in Hethel doing three things: easing off on practicality by a few notches, dialling up the performance by more notches than Errol Flynn’s belt, and generally doing everything they can to restore the good name of practicality in the process."
This alone displays the feelings and strong emotions they have towards the new spec GT. It has hit so close to home they find it hard to put the Evora in a class.
When they talking GT in this one they going into the finer details of what a GT is supposed to have up for offer. Space, sports look and feel with trimmings and a ride you’d want to spoil your fam with more often than not.
On this alone, they’ve put into perspective of what value for money in with this Lotus Evora compared to other GT’s out there.
"It’s not like we’re talking about a family estate, is it? The Evora’s a featherweight sports coupe with two seats for adults, two seats for the slimmest of children and a boot big enough for half of this hypothetical four-person family’s stuff. Or, to put it another way, it’s a lighter, mid-engined, V6, British version of the Porsche 911. Because of course we have to make that comparison."
Backing their claims to it being one of the best GT’s coming out soon, it has withstood testing far out of UK’s reach. Meaning, it’s suitable for most of the world’s passages. One of the main reasons the Evora will thrive in the world when it comes rolling out.
"Evora is Lotus’s international model. It’s tested and homologated across Europe, China and the United States, giving it the biggest reach outside of the UK’s soggy, rocky coastline. So it has to be of a format that more buyers are willing to consider – the daily driving sports car. And this has quite an effect on the final feel. (via Top Gear)"
Not too bad of a price is another bonus
The starting price for the Lotus Evora GT410 Sports starts at $219,990. The biggest and baddest of them all the Evora GT430 Sport is $239,990. The entry-level which is the 400 is priced just under $200k.
That’s one hell of a car for that amount of money.
