Yesterday Ford released a video showing the upcoming Bronco’s logo as well as showing some of the model’s history through the years. Capping off the video was the timeframe for the world premiere: Spring 2020. This means it’ll be just about three years after the initial announcement was made to bring back the Bronco. The exact date and setting of the reveal was left a secret.

That’s all well and good, but if you’re looking for more details about Ford’s forthcoming off-roader then this video won’t help much. Ford has been playing their cards close to their chest on this one, but it’s safe to say with confidence that the Bronco will share platforms with the new Ford Ranger. Inside the Bronco will be a 7-speed manual developed by Getrag along with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, according sources who spoke with Jalopnik. You read that right, Ford is going against the current by offering the Bronco with a stick shift only—well, hopefully. This should allow for the Bronco to capitalize on the market that the Jeep Wrangler has owned for so long, which GM is also hoping to take advantage of soon.

While most are certain of the underpinnings of the future Bronco, it’s worthy to note that there’s still well over a year between now and its release. It will be revealed in 2020, but won’t hit the market until sometime in 2020. But after reading the replies to the tweet posted by Ford to tease the Bronco, people are tired of waiting. Maybe the market is desperate for a rival to the Wrangler? Only time will tell. Well, that and sales numbers.
