As most of you probably know by now, the Mustang Mach-E debuted last night in Los Angeles, and  unsurprisingly there are some pretty cool features on the newest Mustang (still feels weird to say that). So, without further ado, here are the five coolest features on the new Mustang Mach-E.

Cooler Frunk!

For those not up to date with EV jargon, a frunk is what the storage area in the area that would be the engine bay of EVs are called (front + trunk). But this is not your average frunk as it’s enhanced by its ability to drain water, thereby allowing it to act as a cooler! Fill it up with ice and bam, your new electric Mustang can now double as a cooler. It really is amazing where the future is leading us.

All New Ford SYNC Assistant

Making its debut in the Mach-E is the next generation Ford SYNC. I say assistant because that’s exactly what it is: this new software will adapt to your behavior and will suggest things as it learns. If you frequently go to the gym on certain days, it’ll recognize that and suggest going to the gym on those days. Or if you always call home after work, Ford SYNC will remember that and will be ready to call home as soon as you get into the car. The great thing is that over time, SYNC will only get better as it becomes more accustomed to your habits.

Phone As A Key

Like the new Golf mark 8, the Mustang Mach-E will allow owners to use their smartphone as the key. Using bluetooth, the Mach-E will sense the owner’s phone and allow them to start the car. And just in case your phone dies, there’s the option to enter a backup code on the center screen.

Soundbar-Like Speakers

The quality Bang and Olufsen speakers are cleverly hidden right in the dashboard, similar to a TV soundbar. This helps maintain the minimalistic look of the interior, while also providing the ability to blast the Mach-E’s occupants with superb sound right in front of them.

Over The Air Updates

Over-the-air updates aren’t anything new to the industry as other companies, namely Tesla, have been doing it for years. But the fact that the Mach-E can seamlessly update whenever and wherever gives it a huge appeal to consumers. For reference, the base Tesla Model 3 has improved its 0-60 time by .4 seconds since its release thanks to over-the-air updates. So, who knows what the future of the Mach-E looks like with these updates.
