Five Head Turners From the LA Auto Show
By Grant Cox
Over the weekend dozens of car brands brought out their best and newest models to flaunt in front of the public and press at the LA Auto Show. Everything from futuristic concepts to production ready, Nurburgring record-smashing SUVs were on display at one of the biggest car shows in North America. Here’s the five most most exciting vehicles that car companies brought to the LA Auto Show, in no particular order.
Audi RS Q8
With 592 horses under the hood, a Nurburgring lap record for SUVs, and seating for five the RS Q8 is the most badass to haul your family around. Well, except for maybe the Lamborghini Urus. But since the RS Q8 only has about 50 less horsepower and is only six tenths slower getting from 0 to 60 mph (RS Q8 does the sprint in 3.8 seconds), is there really that much of a difference? Not to mention, it’s less than half the cost of an Urus.
Audi RS6 Avant
Audi is all about mixing functionality with performance, which is why they brought their recently revealed RS6 Avant to sit alongside the aforementioned RS Q8. The RS6 is in LA for a special reason though as it’s the first RS wagon that Audi will be bringing to America. That means that there is a huge amount of excitement for this model, but sentimental reasons aren’t the only reason people are hyped for this car. It’s got a solid claim to being the best performing wagon on the market, and who doesn’t want that car?
Volkswagen I.D. Space Vizzion
Continuing with the wagon infatuation, here we have Volkswagen’s upcoming all-electric station wagon. Donning the Volkswagen I.D. design language, the Space Vizzion is a sleek example of VW’s future. Its most notable features are the cleverly placed LED design elements like in the door handles and hidden in the lower grille design. While it’s no Cybertruck, the Space Vizzion is an excellent look into the electric future.
