Nothing is ever official, but the newest word from Audi regarding their e-tron GT concept sounds pretty promising. Audi succinctly told those at Autocar that “in one more year here we will present our coupé.” While coupé could mean anything, it’s almost certainly referring to their e-tron GT concept, which they debuted around a year ago.

The e-tron GT will be based on the Porsche Taycan with which it was codeveloped. So, it’ll have the same 96 kWh battery pack, and in the e-tron it’ll produce 529 horsepower which will rocket the GT from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds, which is comparable to the 4S variant of the Taycan. Power is sent to the wheels via the Quattro all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring. To better equip the e-tron for track days, battery pack temperature by a complex cooling method, which means that performance won’t be compromised after repeated usage.

The e-tron GT gets an impressive 250 miles of range, and because it shares its battery with the Taycan, can charge up to 80% in just 20 minutes.

Although they’re the same car underneath, the e-tron GT has a much more striking appearance than the Taycan. It’s muscular but sleek, and has a futuristic appeal without being too flashy or gimmicky. That forward looking design language is carried over into the interior which boasts a clean and modern look that’s full with tech.

Though the production version of the e-tron GT has yet to be unveiled, not much should change between that and the concept. When it does finally arrive, the expected cost is said to be around $128,000, which slides into a price point between the Taycan 4S and Turbo models.
