She was named as one of the “Top 100 Women Athletes of the Century” by Sports Illustrated and her resume is why:

  • 1992 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year (first woman to win the award)
  • 2x winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona (1987, 1990)
  • 12 Hours of Sebring winner in 1990
  • 24 Hours of Nürburgring class winner in 1979
  • 1985 Serengeti 500 winner (Only woman to win a solo IMSA GT race)
