Mario Andretti

I don’t think I am going out on a limb when I maintain that Andretti is the greatest America racing driver. I might get some push back but lets review his work in IndyCar and NASCAR:

1967 Daytona 500 winner

1969 Indianapolis 500 winner

Three time USAC Series champion (1965, 1966, 1969)

33 career wins in USAC

1984 IndyCar Series champion

19 IndyCar Series wins

Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt are the only drivers to win both the Indy 500 and Daytona 500.
