Al Pease (Eagle)

He is the only driver to be disqualified from a Formula One race (1969 Canadian Grand Prix) for driving too slow. Using an out of date Eagle race car Pease qualified but caused mayhem on the track for his fellow drivers in his slow vehicle. Pease was black flagged after 21-laps, his fellow drivers were on lap 43.

At the 1967 Canadian Grand Prix he finished 43-laps behind the leader and at the 1968 Canadian Grand Prix he failed to qualify when he was 15.8-seconds behind pole setter Jachen Rindt’s time of 1:33.8.

Pease had a great career in racing, he is a member of the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame, but his three-race F1 career was less than stellar.
