Ayrton Senna (1985-1987)

Senna never won a Drivers’ Championship with Team Lotus, if anything his tenure with them was foreshadowing his dominate era with McLaren. With that said, Senna shined with Team Lotus and won six-races in three seasons.

His highest finish in the Drivers’ Championship for Team Lotus was third in 1987. In 1988 he joined McLaren and promptly won his first title. Also, and this is irrelevant to his on-track performance but that John Player Special livery was iconic.
