1985 Lotus Excel Type 89

Aramaki, the Section Chief of Public Security, rolls in a highly-modified 1985 Lotus Excel Type 89. The body kit and rear wing on the Excel do not hide the curves of this tight Lotus.

The Lotus Excel was a slightly-modified Lotus Eclat with the same 2.2-liter inline-four Type 912 engine that produced 160hp at 6,500 rpm. Transmission options were the Toyota W58 five-speed manual or four-speed ZF automatic.

At the time Toyota was a shareholder in Lotus and the parties worked together on the Supra and the Excel.
