1969 Dodge Charger (Dukes of Hazzard)

Please note: I’m focusing on the TV show and not the lame movie with Jessica Simpson.

“The Dukes of Hazzard” ran for six seasons, plus that one funky season with Coy & Vance, and due to the Duke boys tendency to launch their car over ravines 300 or more Dodge Chargers lost their lives.

Due to carnage of Mopars the producers of the show had difficulty locating cars for and some 1970 Chargers were used. They were made up to look like their 1969 brethren but for the purpose of this article we are focusing on “LEE 1”, which was used in the pilot.

“LEE 1” is still out there and is currently owned by pro golfer, Bubba Watson. It’s been restored and brought back to its former glory. Under the hood of “LEE 1” is a 383ci V8 engine that produced a factory-rated 290hp. The engine is paired was originally paired with a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
