Like a lot of gearheads I am a very devout fan of “Top Gear” during the Clarkson, Hammond and May era. I realize that there is TV show after the trio’s departure in 2015 but I never really got into it and the constant shuffling of presenters was a bit unsettling. I guess Clarkson, May and Hammond proved that great chemistry is hard to find.
For me, “Top Gear” will always be Clarkson, Hammond and May. Yes I realize there is a world where “Top Gear” continues to ramble on but not for me.
I have similar opinions about the “Star Wars” prequels. Yes they were produced and I watched them but I largely ignore them, Darth Maul was cool and that’s about it.
I still watch classic “Top Gear” episodes on Amazon Prime, not all the time but when I need some comfort TV, which is akin to comfort food, I put on a rerun. My “Top Gear” rerun choices are geared towards the episodes with the most interesting stunts or funny challenges.
