Aston Martin DB9

Like a lot of us Martha Stewart may have gotten a bit stir crazy during Covid and the subsequent quarantine and this lead to her deliver eggs to her neighbor in an Aston Martin DB9. The Aston Martin is hers and in a March 22, 2020 Instagram post (see above) she provides a short a review of the luxurious GT car.

It’s about 15 years old , standard shift, not a very good radio , but the car sounds great , drives like a dream once you master the gears – Martha Stewart

The DB9 was produced from 2004-2016 and under the hood is a 5.9-liter V12 engine that produced a factory-rated 510hp and Martha’s has a six-speed manual transmission.

Also, I think it’s pretty dope that she has a manual transmission in her DB9. With the stick shift being phased out for paddle-shifted transmissions it’s refreshing to know that there are still gearheads out there that want a little bit more control of their vehicle.

The DB9 revived the Aston Martin brand as a legit performance car that took 4.6-seconds to go from 0-60 mph and has a top speed of 183 mph.

As a former Camaro owner I am well aware that acceleration is cool but my former Chevy braked like an aircraft carrier. A DB9 on the other hand is aided by six-caliber carbon ceramic disc brakes up front and four-piston carbon ceramic disc brakes out back.

At 4,000 lbs. a DB9 can stop from 60 mph in 100-feet. Not to shabby and for context a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder can drop from 60-0 mph in 94-feet.

Big ups to Martha for having a great GT car.
