The price for used vehicles is still quite expensive in this day and age, with good small reliable cars costing anywhere between £2000 to £5000. For new drivers that have just passed their driving test, it is highly recommended that they start off with a small fuel-efficient car that can get them used to driving on the road before they get behind the wheel of a car with more power and a bigger engine. Today we’ll be sharing 1.0 litre vehicles that would be suitable for new drivers on the market

Toyota Aygo

The Toyota Aygo is a small compact car that was first manufactured in the year 2005. The new models from the 2014 to 2019 have seen a major upgrade both with handling and the interior. With a TV screen included in some models, the Aygo is definitely one for those that want something small, reliable and cheap. The average price for this cost anywhere between £3000-£5000 depending on the mileage and condition of the car. With a top speed of around 95mph and an engine size of 998ccm, the Aygo is one of the cheapest models to insure for new drivers with a cost of £641.

Volkswagen up!

The Volkswagen up! is best known for its ability to perform on corners, turns and bends, first manufactured in the year 2012. The major selling point on the market for this particular car is the low price it has, with an average price of £2000-£4000. This Volkswagen comes with a 1.0 litre engine and has 3-cylinders which is able to produce around 64bhp. Not only does this model look pretty good, but it is also becoming highly popular with those looking to buy a nice small car to drive as a daily runner.

Nissan Pixo

The Nissan Pixo is a mid-sized car and slightly bigger than the two cars mentioned above. The Pixo was first released in the year 2009 and was known as the best car on the market for those looking to purchase 1.0 litre cars. The Pixo is spacious from inside and can cost anywhere from £900 to £2000. This Nissan model can produce 67bhp and travel from 0-60mph in around 15 seconds, still pretty good for a 1.0 litre car.

Citroen C1

The C1 looks similar to the Aygo, as a small compact 1.0 litre car, the first model was produced and launched in the year 2005. This car offers drivers exceptional handling, a reasonable price for buyers and also low running costs. The C1 has price tag from around £1900 to £2500 depending on the condition and mileage. This model has a top speed between 97mph and 105mph and can produce 67bhp.
