What’s the most popular cars of 2022?

It is almost the end of the year as we only have a few weeks left to enter into 2023. This year has seen the car industry change and new cars brought into the industry by a range of different manufactures. Today we’ll be looking back into the year at the most popular cars of 2022 and the most sold cars on this years market.

Toyota Camry – 214,403 cars sold

The Toyota Camry can be purchased as a standard model or hybrid model with advanced driving technology built into the car to provide the driver a much comfortable and easy driving experience. In the Hybrid model comes a 2.5-Liter Hybrid Inline-4 which is able to create 203-301bhp which also depends if the engine is a 3.5-Liter V6. The touring estate model and the Corolla are currently being used by the UK police as a rapid response vehicle for emergencies around the area. The price of the model can vary depending on the features and size of the engine.

The basic LE model has a starting price of around £20,000 whereas the Hybrid LE has a increased price of £23,440. However, the most valuable expensive model of the Toyota Camry is the V6 XSE which has a cost of £30,305.

Honda CR-V – 178,687 cars sold
The Honda CR-V 2022 is a SUV model based on the first generation CR-V. Since the first models were released in 1995, this model has seen a drastic change in the both the exterior and the interior. This model also comes as a 2.0 Petrol Electric Hybrid or a 2.0 straight engine. With a top speed of around 114mph, this model can accelerate from 0-60pmh in 8.5-9.3 seconds. This model comes with 4 engine specifications which drivers can choose from if purchasing straight from the factory.

The prices vary for each individual model:

  • Honda CR-V (s) – £32,000
  • Honda CR-V (se) – £35,000
  • Honda CR-V (sr) – £36,000
  • Honda CR-V (ex) – £40,000

 Jeep Cherokee – 172,545 cars sold

The Jeep Cherokee 2021-2022 is also based on the first generation of the Cherokee SUV. The new models have also seen a major difference and change in the interior, exterior and how the vehicle handles. The engine has also been changed in order for the SUV to be more efficient and perform better. The Cherokee is definitely taking the ranks within the G-Wagon and Range Rover SVR. The car has a 2.0-liter I-4 turbocharged engine which is one of the most advanced engine types in the world which is able to create 270 bhp. According to AJD powered, this model has a reliability score of 82/100, which means this model is considered a reliable car with excellent handling and power.

The model is also able to perform in harsh conditions, weather and off-road too, with a base price of between £32,000 to £42,000.

Honda Civic – 119,023 cars sold

The Honda Civic is one of those cars which has been around since forever. With different shapes being released and changed every few years. However, the new Honda Civics remind you of the new Honda Type R. This model has a 2.0 size engine which is able to accelerate from 0-60mph takes 7.4 seconds. The price for this model depends as this vehicle can also be purchased as a EV-Hybrid model from anywhere between £29,595 – £47,645.

The Honda Civic also won the 2022 Car of the Year Award at the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards in 2022 which was located in Huntington Place on January 11, 2022 in Detroit, Michigan. The Honda Civic has definitely seen a drastic change from when it was first released in 1973 (first generation).
