The Dodge Viper is one of the best sports cars of all time. This status is especially the case for American-made options. However, the iconic Viper isn’t as discussed as many of its competitors. Despite the lack of recognition, the Dodge Viper is an impressive beast of a car with its ultra-powerful engine. Additionally, it has a look that grabs attention and is wonderfully unrepresentative of other Dodge vehicles. The Viper remained in production from 1992 until 2017.

The Dodge Viper is one of the best sports cars because of performance

Most people who know the Dodge Viper understand it’s a fast car. Among all the model years, perhaps the best of the early options is the 1995 Dodge Viper. According to Edmunds, this model has an impressive 8.0-liter V10 engine with a maximum output of 400 horsepower. It’s rear wheel drive and uses a six-speed manual transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 184 miles per hour.

Despite the 1995 Dodge Viper being one of the best sports cars, the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR-X is one of the most sought after models. The Viper ACR-X has an 8.4-liter V10 that makes 640 hp and a torque of 605 lb-ft. However, the ACR-X is not street legal, so don’t plan on getting one anytime soon. This model also has superior handling than the normal Viper ACR. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.4 seconds.

Of course, the final model of the iconic sports car arrived for the 2017 model year. It uses an 8.4-liter engine , and the trims all have a maximum output of 645 horsepower. It takes about 3 seconds to get from 0 to 60 mph.

The Dodge Viper is still valuable

Need proof that the Dodge Viper is one of the best sports cars? Simply take a look at the current market value. According to the auction site Classic, the average price for the Viper is $88,980. The website reports that the lowest price was $23,100, and the highest was $672,282. The 2017 Dodge Viper is one of the most valuable. It goes for an average of $234,527, with the lowest valued option costing a little over $100,000.

The Dodge Viper is an excellent example of American made sports cars. It may not always be one of the most talked about options, but it offers much to gearheads. This wouldn’t be an appropriate choice for a person who needs a practical vehicle, but it satisfies the need for speed. It’s easily one of the best sports cars of all time.
