Regarding the best sports cars, many are looking forward to the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro. As any gearhead knows, the Camaro is among the most iconic American high-performance cars of all time. Luckily, it’s one of the nameplates that has remained relevant, even in modern times. Unfortunately, Chevy will discontinue the Camaro with the conclusion of the 2024 model year. Its discontinuation results from a decline in sales despite many fans still respecting the car. Luckily, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro seems to be a worthy send-off for the iconic muscle car. Additionally, it includes some performance upgrades over the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro.

Here’s a look into the last in a long line of well-respected and groundbreaking rides.

The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro is among the best sports cars

One of the great things about modern day sports cars is that they offer a variety of performance levels. This level of inclusion is important because not everyone wants the most powerful engine. According to Edmunds, the lower trims of the 2024 Chevy Camaro use a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It has a maximum output of 335 horsepower and a torque of 284 lb-ft. This includes the 1LT, 2LT, and the 3LT trims.

Regarding transmissions, the new Camaro has either a six-speed manual with active rev matching or a 10-speed automatic. Of course, many traditionalists will prefer the manual, but the automatic will perhaps be popular among many from the modern generation.

The Camaro also has the option for a 6.2-liter engine. The LT1, 1SS, and 2SS trims all have a maximum output of 455 horsepower and a torque of 455 lb-ft. However, the real powerhouse is the top-of-the-line ZL1. It has a maximum output of 650 horsepower. This is also one of the best sports cars for speed. The 2024 Chevy Camaro accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour between 3.5 and 5.1 seconds. Of course, this all means that the new Camaro is nowhere near being fuel efficient.

Performance wise, this is an improvement over the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro.

The new Camaro has a driver focused interior

The interior of a sports car is never the most exciting aspect of the vehicle. Not only is the inside of the Camaro modern, but it also has a great look that competes with the best sports cars on the market. Of course, the automaker also used top-of-the-line materials for the cabin of the Camaro. However, one of the drawbacks is the back seat. Of course, we’re happy it has any backseat at all, but it’s not a comfortable part of the car.

Regarding interior technology, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro comes standard with a seven-inch touchscreen, but buyers can upgrade it to an eight-inch unit. Both use Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system. There are better displays of interior technology, but this is still one of the best sports cars in this regard. Additionally, it has wireless compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In many ways, the interior here is the same as on the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro.

A proper send off to an American legend

The muscle car era came and went decades ago. However, we’re lucky that a handful of iconic models managed to stick around. As such, the 2024 Camaro is an important vehicle. To honor the end, Chevrolet is including a special collectors edition. Buyers can get it on the coupe and convertible versions of the 1LT, LT, and 1SS trims of the vehicle. It includes special wheels, and it comes in black. Of course, the ZL1 also gets a special version of the collectors edition.

It’s unfortunate that, at least for now, there won’t be any future models of the Camaro. However, we’re excited to see the future of Chevrolet and what it has to offer. Still, there are decades of the Camaro to look back on with pride.
