The Toyota Tundra is one of the best trucks on the market and has been for a while. Now, the 2024 Toyota Tundra is here, and it has much to offer buyers. Not only is this an improvement over the 2023 Toyota Tundra, it’s also a well-rounded truck that is extremely capable. Of course, the truck also has Toyota’s legendary quality and reliability.

Here’s a look into the 2024 Toyota Tundra.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is among the best trucks for efficient power

Like the 2023 Toyota Tundra, the new model has two powertrains, with one being gas-powered and the other being a hybrid. According to Edmunds, the 2024 Toyota Tundra comes standard with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with a maximum output of 348 horsepower and a torque of 405 lb-ft. There are rear and four-wheel drive configurations for the new Toyota Tundra, and it uses a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding the hybrid versions of the 2024 Toyota Tundra, they also use a 3.5-liter V6 engine. However, it’s more powerful with its maximum output of 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft torque. The truck accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 6.2 seconds. In terms of fuel economy, the gas-powered versions of the truck average 20 miles per gallon, while the hybrid gets 22 miles per gallon combined.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is also one of the best trucks for towing. It can handle between 8,300 pounds and 12,000 pounds, depending on the trim.

The new Toyota Tundra has a solid interior

One of the things that makes the new Toyota Tundra among the best trucks is its interior. Though there’s nothing state-of-the-art about the inside of the 2024 Toyota Tundra, it’s a spacious and comfortable cabin with advanced technology. The truck is also a bit retro, as the base models have analog gauge clusters. Additionally, there are tons of storage options throughout the truck.

As with the 2023 Toyota Tundra, the base trims get a standard eight-inch touchscreen system. However, all trims besides the bottom two have a 14-inch unit, which is an improvement over the previous model. The system also includes buttons and knobs, which increases the functionality. Luckily, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard on the new Toyota Tundra. Regarding sound systems, the Extended Cab versions have six speakers, while the Crew Cab versions have 9.

This is a safe truck

The Toyota Tundra is one of the best trucks for safety. Of course, the new model is yet to be tested, but the 2023 Toyota Tundra is a Top Safety Plus pick from the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety. The 2024 model will likely have this distinction as well. Regarding the 2024 Toyota Tundra, all models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes features such as:

  • Pre-collision System with Pedestrian Detection with intersection support
  • Road Sign Assist (RSA)
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
  • Lane Keeping Technology
  • Automatic High Beams

Overall, the 2024 Toyota Tundra is one of the best trucks on the market for several reasons. Not only does it deliver solid performance, but it’s an overall great-looking truck. The new Toyota Tundra starts at $39,965.
