The Hyundai Elantra is one of the most popular small cars on the market. Like the overall reputation of Hyundai, it’s a vehicle that has only improved as time has gone on. As a result, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra is one of the best small cars money can buy. Not only is it fairly affordable for a brand new vehicle, but it has solid performance and an excellent display of modern features. Like the 2023 Hyundai Elantra, this is a real winner.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra delivers solid performance for the price

The standard 2024 Hyundai Elantra is in no way one of the most powerful vehicles on the market. However, its relatively low price tag helps make it one of the best small cars, which means you can forgive it for not being the fastest. According to Edmunds, it has a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 147 horsepower and has a torque of 132 lb-ft.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is a front-wheel drive vehicle that uses a continuously variable transmission. However, those wanting a bit more power can go for the N-Line trim. This one uses a 1.6-liter turbo engine with a maximum output of 201 horsepower. Its torque is 195 lb-ft, and it has a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding speed, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra is pretty good. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.1 seconds.

However, that’s not all. Hyundai has some real tricks up its sleeve with the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N, which has a turbocharged 2.0-liter that makes 286 horsepower with the Hyundai N Grin Shift. This one comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission but has an optional automatic eight-speed. It only needs 4.8 seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour.

Though spectacular, this all remains unchanged from the 2023 Hyundai Elantra.

Notably, the Hyundai Elantra is also an efficient vehicle. The base model averages 32 miles per gallon in the city and 41 MPG on the highway. This makes it one of the best small cars on the market.

The Hyundai Elantra has a solid interior

The inside of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra might not be the reason so many people call it one of the best small cars on the market. However, it looks perfectly fine and has solid features for the price. It comes standard with a six-way adjustable driver seat that’s also height adjustable. The passenger seat is a four-way adjustable. The lower trims get cloth, but the Limited has N-Text leather-trimmed seats.

Regarding interior technology, the base SE trim has an eight-inch touchscreen. However, all the others have a 10.25-inch display. It’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and even has an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system as standard on the Limited trim. The 2024 Hyundai Elantra also has dynamic voice recognition.

Another cool feature is its optional Hyundai Digital Key 2. This feature is easy to add to your Apple Wallet and then use as your key by holding your compatible iPhone or Apple Watch up to the door handle. Additionally, it works with some recent Samsung Galaxy devices. Much of this is also true for the 2023 Hyundai Elantra.

Price makes this one of the best small cars on the market

One of the best parts of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra is its price. According to the automaker, it starts at $21,475. However, the N is a bit more pricy, starting at $28,315. Sure, there are still cheaper cars on the market, but this is one that has a great deal to offer.

Overall, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra is among the best small cars on the market for a number of reasons. Not only does it produce a perfectly fine amount of power, but it has options that compete with some of the best in terms of speed. Of course, the 2023 Hyundai Elantra is still a solid choice.
