One of the things that makes the 2024 Honda Accord among the best midsize sedans is that it has something for everyone. Those wanting more efficient power have that, but people who want a gas-powered vehicle also have options with the Accord. According to Edmunds, the 2024 Honda Accord comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four engine. It has a maximum output of 192 horsepower and a torque of 192 lb-ft.

The 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid is also a solid option. It uses a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 204 horsepower. Both the hybrid and non-hybrid versions are front-wheel drive cars. Regarding fuel economy, the 1.5-liter engine is great as it averages 29 miles per gallon in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. However, the hybrid version makes this one of the best midsize sedans for efficiency. The Sport Hybrid averages an impressive 46 miles per gallon in the city and 41 MPG on the highway.

This is also an impressive sedan for speed. The standard model accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 7.3 seconds. However, it only takes 6.6 seconds for the hybrid trim to do so. Buyers should note that the 2023 Honda Accord offers the same performance.

This is also easily one of the best midsize sedans on the market because it’s spacious. With seating for five, the 2024 Honda Accord is the perfect size for most people. Additionally, it’s an incredibly comfortable vehicle. The base trims use cloth seats, but the more advanced options have leather trim. Some models of the Honda Accord also have heated front seats. Additionally, all models but the base trim have a one-touch power moon roof with tilt.

This is also one of the best midsize sedans for interior technology. The first two trims have a seven-inch color touchscreen, whereas all other models use a 12.3-inch unit. All models support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the hybrid trims offer wireless compatibility. The 2024 Honda Accord also has an impressive sound system. Potential buyers should know that the 2023 Honda Accord offers much of the same.

Honda Sensing makes this an ultra safe car

The 2024 Honda Accord is also one of the best midsize sedans because it’s safe. This is because all models come standard with the Honda Sensing suite of features. They include the following:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow
  • Lane Keeping Assist System with Traffic Jam Assist
  • Traffic Sign Recognition

It’s also notable that the 2023 Honda Accord is a Top Safety + pick by the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety. Because the new model has so few changes, it’s reasonable to assume it will get the same safety rating. Overall, the 2024 Honda Accord is a great car. It may not have the looks everyone wants from the vehicle, but there’s much to appreciate.
