The 2024 Mazda CX-5 Proves Small SUVs Can Be Swift

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is one of the top SUVs when it comes to smaller options. Like most Mazda models, it delivers solid performance and also has a well-rounded interior. In many ways, this is the option to get for those seeking something modern and affordable that's not bland like many other SUVs. Luckily for buyers, the 2023 Mazda CX-5 is also a solid option as it offers much of the same. 

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is one of the top small SUVs for performance

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is one of the top SUVs in the small category for performance. It has two powertrains, with the first being a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter that makes 187 horsepower and has a torque of 186 lb-ft. However, there is also a turbocharged version that has a maximum output of 227 horsepower and a torque of 310 lb-ft. 

According to Edmunds, the 2024 Mazda CX-5 is an all-wheel drive SUV and uses a six-speed automatic transmission. Despite being one of the top small SUVs for performance, this isn't the fastest model. The base trim needs about 8.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. However, the turbocharged version is much faster, as it only takes 6.6 seconds. The 2023 Mazda CX-5 offers similar performance. 

It has a well rounded interior

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is also one of the top SUVs for its interior. It seats up to five people, but drivers may want to make it four for adults. Not only that, but it has a great-looking cabin that uses a solid blend of high-quality and affordable materials. This means that the CX-5 will continue to look good on the inside for years to come. There's also decent cubby space throughout. 

The CX-5 shines when it comes to interior technology. All trims feature a 10.3-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment system also includes physical knobs, which many drivers still appreciate. 

Overall, the 2023 and 2024 Mazda CX-5 models have much to offer the market. They are among the top SUVs because they're spacious, decently fast, and have a solid use of technology. It starts at $29,300.
