The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee has quite a bit to offer buyers looking for the best midsize SUVs. Sure, it doesn't have the best history with reliability, but many later models of the celebrated vehicle seem to do just fine. Not only does the new model deliver solid performance, but it has a well-balanced look that has evolved with the times. The same can be said for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the best midsize SUVs for performance

One of the many reasons to consider the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is how it performs. According to Edmunds, it uses a 3.6-liter V6 engine that has a maximum output of 293 horsepower and a torque of 260 lb-ft. The Grand Cherokee comes standard as a rear-wheel drive SUV but has configurations for 4WD. Of course, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers similar performance. 

This is also one of the best midsize SUVs because it's pretty swift. According to road tests, it only takes 6.2 seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour. Of course, there are faster SUVs, but this is pretty solid for one of this size. It can also tow up to 7,200 pounds with the proper equipment. It has an 8.4-inch ground clearance. 

It has a solid interior

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is also one of the best midsize SUVs because it's spacious. It offers plenty of room across its two rows for passengers of most sizes to spread out. However, the automaker also offers a larger version with three rows. Still, the standard model works just fine for most. This SUV grants up to 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is similar. 

Regarding interior technology, it has a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, but higher trims have a 10.1-inch unit. The system, which uses UConnect, works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Higher-end versions also have a digital gauge cluster. The SUV also has a standard six-speaker sound system. 

Final thoughts

As mentioned, The Jeep Grand Cherokee has struggled with reliability. However, J.D. Power gave the 2024 model a healthy 77 out of 100. Of course, this is only 'average,' but it does mean the Grand Cherokee is in line with its rivals. Additionally, it has a high resale value, which means it should be worth a good, but in the long run. There are cheaper options, but many people love Jeeps.
