Easy Ken…that’s Lord March riding shotgun!

Leave it to Lord March to strap himself into an 845 HP 1965 Ford Mustang drift car piloted by Ken Block and almost crash into some hay bales because that’s exactly what happened early Sunday morning (June. 28, 2015) during the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Lord March, a man not to keen to turn down an opportunity for a ride along with one of the most famous drivers in the world (as far as Youtube views go, had a bit of fun as he strapped into the Hoonicorn for a bit of drifting. Even though the ground was a bit cold and the Pirelli Trofeo R’s weren’t exactly quite warm enough, Ken Block went “balls to the walls” and initiated a proper drift with Lord March in the passenger seat. At one point, Block’s tires hit a patch of dirt sending the Hoonicorn careening towards some hay bales at a low speed.

According to the commentators, “…And he’s just overdone it and he’s spun it. (laughter) and he doesn’t quite get too the bales but it’s all part of the action. Do you think he was trying a little extra hard to impress the boss? The lever of fever was yanked a bit too far. Brilliant.”

Thankfully the Hoonicorn scrubbed plenty of speed before even coming close to the hay bales and spectators. In his typical brash American style, Block smiled it off and continued his drifting up Molecomb Corner all the way to the finish. A proper hat tip to Lord March for being such a good sport. And if you haven’t already seen, here’s Lord March, Ken Block and Kimi Rakonnen having a bit of a chat earlier yesterday. Surprisingly, Kimi was all smiles!
