This week, Forza Horizon 3 announced that racers would be able to get behind the wheel and drive one of the most sought-after vehicles in the HALO Universe: The Warthog.

As an eSports racer, I enjoy test driving all kinds of different vehicles in the gaming world. I try not to limit myself to just “racing only” games for the simple fact that there are many video games that feature some cool vehicles. One such game is Forza Horizon 3.

Take for example the video game Grand Theft Auto. Even though the game was not purposely built to master your skills of driving, I have spent countless hours jumping in and out of the vehicles in that game to see just how a particular vehicle performs.

Another video game that I enjoy from a driver’s perspective is Battlefield Hardline. While

most consider this game a first person shooter, I often find myself jumping into a game mode called “Hotwire.”

Hotwire puts two teams against each other by trying to maintain control of a certain number of vehicles. The team that drives the vehicles around the map the longest without having their vehicles destroyed or carjacked wins.

Let me tell you; this gameplay is addicting! If you have a good wheelman in the driver’s seat (I know a guy!), Hotwire provides some very fun game play.

Then there are the vehicles in the Halo Franchise. More importantly, the one and only Warthog. Also known as the M12 Force Application Vehicle. This thing is a boss! Some of my earliest memories of playing HALO are in this vehicle.

The Warthog has never been considered an easy vehicle to drive, but once you get the controls down, it provides hours of brute force fun.  Forza Motorsport has announced this week that the Warthog is making its debut in the new Forza Horizon 3 video game and man I can’t wait!

Forza Horizon 3 will debut a civilian transport version with the games release. Officially named the 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST (Let’s stick to calling it “Warthog”…), the vehicle will be powered by a 720 bhp V8  engine. In addition to all that power, the Warthog will be equipped with some of the best suspension of any car in the game which makes it a perfect match for the many off-road environments the game provides.

Anyone who has played Halo 5 or  Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One will receive the Warthog as a free download. For those of you that haven’t played HALO, you will also get a chance to drive this vehicle by attending a special Forzathon event in October.

Forza Horizon 3 will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs on September 27th.
