Turn 10 studios, the creators of the highly successful racing franchise Forza Motorsport, know what eSport racers want. They know that eSports racing really ramps up during the summer months, when the majority of gamers are enjoying summer vacation. We are a month into the 2016 summer eSports racing season, and Forza Motorsport has just announced the Turn 10 Select Car Pack for Forza 6. This is no ordinary Car Pack release. The Car Pack features some of the most diverse set of cars ever seen in Forza Motorsport history, just in time for summer. Each car has been hand-picked by Turn 10 themselves. Available for download for only $7, the Turn 10 car pack comes with 7 unique cars to add to your Forza 6 garage collection. I downloaded the car pack today, and for the price, you truly get a cool set of vehicles to keep your racing attention throughout Summer ‘16. Another reason I was so quick to download this car pack, was because if features a couple cars that are on my “What If?” car list. (I will explain later in my review this week). This car pack truly has something for everyone. The 7 car pack includes:

More from Art of Gears

In addition to these 7 new vehicles, Turn 10 has also announced competitive multiplayer tweaks to 3 of it’s most popular tracks; Monza, Catalunya, and Circuit of the Americas. The content update is aimed at getting eSports racers ready for the upcoming Forza Racing Championship, and looks at keeping gamers “honest” to prevent thing’s like corner cutting. This is a huge plus for us hardcore eSports fans, looking for a fun, but competitive race.

I don’t know how many times I have been “locked” into a podium finish on the last lap of Circuit of Americas, and an “arcade racer” blows past me on a corner that in real life would have taken off his front bumper and radiator!  Now I am not saying I have never done it too, and when you are racing with friends it can be pretty fun, but when you are racing in some of the “elite” racing leagues, its all about racing hard, and racing clean.

Forza Motorsport 6 Turn 10 Official release Trailer:

I am about halfway through testing out all 7 vehicles, and Art of Gears will be doing our full video review shortly. In the meantime, here is my quick teaser video of my “Hot Lap” with the 1969 Ford Brawner Hawk III. In celebration of the upcoming Summer Olympics, our review will be taking place on the streets  of Rio! Stay tuned…

So far, I am pretty impressed with the Turn 10 Select Car Pack. It not only adds a diverse selection of cars, but also features a selection of cars that will really fit into the Forza Racing Championship lineup. Whether you are looking at racing in a newcomers league with the convertible Fiat Sport Spider, or looking to run with the big boys in the Chevy WTCC, this car pack will keep you racing throughout the summer months.  Which car are you excited about racing? Do you have a car you want to see as the next eSports car of the week?
