Formula DRIFT Round 7 takes place this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. With only 2 races left in the 2016 season, expect a major “Showdown” in Texas.

We are only 2 races away from the end of the Formula DRIFT Pro Season, and this has been an exciting year of racing. From racing through the wet streets of Long Beach to drifting near the Jersey Shores, the Pro DRIFT Season has given us quite a back and forth battle between some of the top drifters in the world.

With the top 3 drivers Chris Forsberg, Fredric Aasbo, and Vaughn Gittin Jr. separated by a total of only 15 points, the overall Championship is still up for grabs. Round 7 of the Formula DRIFT season has up traveling to the World Famous Texas Motor Speedway. Texas is known for having one of the fastest drifting tracks on the circuit, so we can expect some exciting tandem drifting this weekend.

Art of Gears has got you covered with the link to the Live Stream for both Friday and Saturday’s events as well as the full event schedule on Saturday.

Congratulations to Aurimas Bakchis and his team at Ark Performance. Bakchis drifted his Hyundai Genesis to an overall win in round 6 which now puts him in 4th place overall for the Championship. With momentum on his side leading up to the final 2 races, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him somewhere on the podium again this week.

The question is, does Bakchis have what it takes to claim the top spot again in Texas? One things for sure, with many of the field still in the hunt for the Championship, expect the Showdown this week to be epic.
