Castrol gave one of the stunt drivers from The Fate of The Furious a Jaguar F-Type along with a fancy headset and cut her loose on the icy landscape of the Yukon. What followed was a sensational thrill ride!

Universal Pictures’ The Fate of the Furious will be in theaters soon and having tied up with everyone from Dodge to Castrol, it’s only obvious that cross-promotional campaigns followed suit.

Castrol took a futuristic route when it came to giving their Castrol Edge range of engine oils a strong push through the movie franchise, and they roped in Michelle Rodriguez along with one of the franchise’s best stunt drivers, Debbie Evans for their campaign. The result is an exciting video ad which has popped up online.

The clip titled “Titanium Ice” was filmed amidst the icy landscape of the Yukon in Canada and features the talented stunt driver being challenged by the actress to pilot a Jaguar F-Type 5.0 Supercharged V8 R AWD through a scenario which belongs in a Fast & Furious movie.

With tanks, attack helicopters, missiles, and submarines taking on the F-Type in a virtual reality experience, Evans gets to be in the driver’s seat (pun intended) as she had to wear a specially-developed headset to be in the middle of the action.

Speaking on the driving experience, the stunt driver said,

"Driving in mixed reality has to be one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced. Using Castrol EDGE gives you the confidence to push yourself and your car to the extreme. It gave me the boost needed to navigate my way through the perilous course."

Once again, though the obstacles were computer-generated and could be viewed through the unique headset developed by UNIT9 production studio, the driving, and the location were very much real. The clip also proves how much of an awesome driver Evans is and we’ll get to see more of her stunt driving skills on display in The Fate of the Furious.

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood, The Fate of the Furious also features Helen Mirren in a crucial role.
