San Diego Comic-Con 2017 is where Hollywood unloads the best movie trailers and Kingsman: The Golden Circle’s SDCC 2017 promo offers glimpses of a crazy chase scene with a London Cab in it.

London Cabs – they aren’t the kind of cars that one would choose to be in when chasing bad guys or while being chased by them. Those cars are meant to transport you from A to B in comfort. They are airy. Not fast. They are big. But not burly enough to intimidate the bad guy’s Range Rovers. Kingsman: The Golden Circle intends to change all of that by throwing a London Cab right into the middle of a thrilling chase scene. We get a brief glimpse of that in the new trailer which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

Here is the IMDb plot summary which might give some context on when and why the chase sequence occurs.

"When the Kingsman headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…"

Eggsy has scaled up in the sequel, with the SDCC trailer of Kingsman 2 showing him getting out of a classic jaguar E-Type. That’s a giant leap there.

Eggsy is shown dealing with a hit squad and these guys do mean business. With baddie vehicles (Jaguar F-PACE SUVs) mounted with M134 miniguns tailing the London Cab and at least one hitman inside the taxi to break his neck, our new Kingsman has got his hands full. Mark Strong’s Merlin (much like Q from Bond movies) is at the wheel and he has a lot to watch out for while Eggsy beats the henchman to pulp on the rear seat. The minigun fire from the back isn’t meant to tickle and the traffic which is headed towards the taxi isn’t friendly. Eggsy gets airborne for a while when one of the oncoming cars crashes into the open passenger door of the taxi. The things that you’ve got to do after joining the gentlemen’s club!

Here’s a clip from the filming location with the baddies in three yellow (ugh!) Jaguar F-PACE SUVs tailing the London Cab.  Miniguns shown in the picture are not part of the standard equipment.

More from Movie Cars

All of that’s shot in director Matthew Vaughn’s signature kinetic style which takes the viewer right into the heart of the action scene. He is probably the only director who makes the tightly-framed action-camera movements look so good. And Kingsman: The Golden Circle promises to be packed with that shooting style all the way. We also get to see an action scene similar to that epic “Church Fight” sequence from Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle also sees the return of Colin Firth’s character – Harry Hart – who was supposedly killed off in the first movie. Returning cast includes Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Edward Holcroft as well. New members of the cast feature Halle Berry, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges who form the Statesman a.k.a the American version of the Kingsman. Julianne Moore plays Poppy, the big baddie this time and will be having a crazier plan than Samuel L. Jackson’s Richmond Valentine’s scheme to rain chaos and take over the world.

The cast of Kingsman 2 had a jolly-good time at San Diego Comic-Con 2017. The crowd loved them!

Next: Now There's A Justice League Batmobile!

We’re sold already and Kingsman 2 has now climbed up the ladder to become one of our must-watch movies of 2017. And just in case the London Cab didn’t make its point in the first half of the trailer, you’ve the otherwise-tame taxi trying out a bit of drifting towards the end of the clip. Perhaps that’s going to get you on board this flick.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle releases worldwide in September 2017.
