Jaguar XF Sportbrake And British Olympic Skier Set Guinness World Record
The Jaguar XF Sportbrake lent Olympic skier a hand (literally) in setting a 117 mph Guinness World Record for the fastest towed speed on skis.
Trending in the world of winter-sports is the news that former British Olympic Skier Graham Bell has just bagged himself a new Guinness World Record title for achieving the “fastest towed speed on skis” by clocking speeds of over 117 mph. The record-breaking run took place at Jaguar Land Rover’s Revi Test Centre in Arjeplog, Sweden, with the skier being aided by a magnificent set of wheels – the Jaguar XF Sportbrake.
Setting off to such megalithic figures while enduring extremely-low temperatures was as big a challenge for the human in Bell as it was for the British station wagon. But both of them imbued the onlookers with a not-so-puny hit of pleasant surprise when they jointly sped past 117 mph, which was roughly 47 mph more than the previous record. Graham Bell didn’t hold back his appreciation for Jaguar and the XF Sportbrake which helped him set a new world record.
"I’m really proud to have achieved this GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, but it was a real team effort with the engineers at Jaguar supporting me every step of the way. The XF Sportbrake stayed perfectly composed throughout and gave me the confidence to not only beat the target but smash it by a great margin!"

The Jaguar XF Sportbrake options list includes ski and snow board holders, for those non-record-breaking trips that you can make to icy landscapes.
Well, that’s fine but what we are excited about is the astounding capability of this premium station wagon. The Jaguar XF Sportbrake with its mammoth 380 hp supercharged V6 mill and a capable AWD system, proved to be capable of smooching the 60 mph mark in 5.3 seconds even on extremely low-grip conditions like those in the Arctic. Thanks to the Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR) and All Surface Progress Control systems, the station wagon never skipped a beat while clocking high speeds on the slippery surface.
Jaguar’s Vehicle Line Director Nick Collins seems brimmed with pride and love for the machine as he comments on its record-breaking run.
"The XF Sportbrake builds on the success of the saloon and has all of the advanced all-wheel drive (AWD) technologies and aluminium-intensive architecture that have made the XF a multi-award winner. Superb handling, plentiful traction and great high speed stability made it the perfect choice for this record attempt."

The E-Pace and F-Pace now seem to have gotten company in the world of Guinness World Record holders where they have been for quite some time now, for bagging the titles of the furthest barrel roll with a production vehicle and the largest loop-the-loop by a car respectively.
