Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet: The Last Of Its Kind Sold For $1.4 Million
The final unit of the audacious Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet has fetched supercar money at Bonhams auction. All of $1.4 million, to be exact.
Take the suspension setup from the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4², the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine from the AMG G65, let Maybach’s craftsmen create an exquisite interior for the aforementioned off-roader and you have the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet.
A “go-anywhere, do anything and still manage to look dope while at it” machine which is more or less like Alfred Pennyworth from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. He can pour you a glass of champagne without spilling a drop on the expensive suit that you are wearing and can also punch the bad guy so hard that they’ll think twice before messing with you.
In the Bonhams “The Zoute Sale” auction held in Zoute, Belgium, the last Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet ever built was sold to a private collector hailing from the same country at a whopping winning bid of $1.4 million. That’s almost twice as much as what a brand-new G650 Landaulet would cost you. Not that they are available in large numbers to buy, even if you have $740,000 to splurge. Only 99 examples were built and this particular copy being the last, the kind of money to part with in order to acquire it was only going to be an astronomical sum.
The electrically-operated fabric top will shield you from the elements and awkward stares of jealousy and admiration when you roll in the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet.

Combining the open-air luxury that landaulets are known for, with the off-road superiority of a jacked-up G-Class SUV is perhaps the biggest attraction of the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet. It also happens to be the first SUV that Maybach has worked on and by the looks of it, those artisans do know a thing or two about crafting car interiors that befit a king.

All proceeds from the auction of the G650 Landaulet which had occupied Lot 35 at The Zoute Sale will be directed towards the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. “Laureus” badge on the radiator grille and two silver champagne flutes engraved with a special message make it stand out in a crowd of G650 Landaulets, if at all a crowd of these astounding super-luxury off-roaders is ever assembled.
