Number 5: Three exhaust tips for a unique sound

You might be expecting a dual-exhaust setup back here or even a quad exhaust arrangement. The car has four cylinders, so why not four exhaust pipes, right? Well, Honda decided to do something special here and did three exhaust tips.

Why? The company did it to give the car a unique look and sound. All three of the exhaust tips are functional, and they let the Type R be somewhat subdued at lower RPM and a little more raucous at high RPM.

If you were expecting the Honda Civic Type R to be a real screamer, you may be disappointed. The car won’t scare the neighbors too much with a guttural growl, but it will burble along once the engine is under heavy throttle.
