1996 Chevrolet Impala SS
The 90s was a tough era for American performance sedans, truthfully I can’t really think of another besides the Impala SS. Ultimately the Impala SS is a Chevy Caprice with a facelift and cooler wheels but it was refreshing to have the Darth Vader of cars on the road.
Only offered in darker shades it was intimidating. The 260hp 350ci V8 Corvette LT1 engine gave it a proper growl and despite its generous proportions (it tipped the scales at 4,037 lbs.) you could cruise a 1/4-mile in 15.2-seconds.
