Will Tesla join the motorcycle market?
By Zain Ullah
Tesla is known for it’s ability to design and manufacture some of the most sustainable and eco-friendly vehicles on the planet. Those that offer both the power and high acceleration, equipped with all the latest technology and software. However, what if Tesla was to design and produce a motorcycle for the biking market? Would they be able to dominate it?
If Tesla produced motorcycles that offered the rider power but also make the rider feel safe on the bike itself, it would certainly attract large customers.
If Tesla did create an electric motorcycle it would probably feature a screen attached above the engine tank between the handle bars and also a high powered charging port located on the side. A high range battery pack would also be integrated within the bike carbon frame to make the weight less.
The unit itself would more than likely have a price tag of £12,000 or more. Although if they introduced different models with various sizes/type of bikes it would suit a more broader and wider market space.
However, once Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk was asked why wouldn’t Tesla manufacture motorcycles. He said that when he was a child he was riding a bike and was almost killed by a truck. It is unlikely that we’ll see a proper bike or electric-superbike that has been manufactured purely by Tesla.
