The Lamborghini Countach is one of the most divisive sports cars of all time. Some view it as the masterpiece the automaker intended it to be, but others dislike it because it does have a few notable drawbacks. However, not only is this one of the best sports cars for power and speed, but it has a unique look that truly stands out. Luckily, this is a vehicle that has continued to build a reputation in more recent years.

The Lamborghini Countach went on sale for the 1974 model year at the Geneva Auto Show. At the time, Lamborghini designed it to be the most extreme car ever created. According to Lamborghini, the first generation Countach has a 4.0-liter V12 engine with a maximum output of 375 horsepower and a torque of 302 lb-ft. This is a rear-wheel drive sports car that uses a five-speed manual transmission.

The Lamborghini Countach is one of the best sports cars for its extreme speeds. The first generation accelerates from 0 to 62 miles per hour in only 5.4 seconds. This may sound a bit slow compared to other sports cars, but it’s important to remember that the Countach isn’t as light of a vehicle as some may think.

Notably, the Lamborghini Countach ended its run in 1990 with a maximum output of 455 horsepower. Additionally, the 1990 Lamborghini Countach accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.5 seconds.

Despite being one of the best sports cars, the Lamborghini Countach has a few downsides. For one, steering is a bit difficult and weighty at low speeds, which makes it not a great option for smaller drivers. Not only that, but the clutch is also a bit difficult because it’s pretty heavy. Additionally, the design of the Lambo makes steering a bit awkward. However, this is such a legendary car that most people would overlook those things if given the chance.

This makes it much more of a special vehicle than one that anyone can easily find. During its time in production, there were almost 2000 units made of the car. As history reports, 50 orders were placed originally for the first model.

As anyone can imagine, this is an expensive vehicle to find today. According to the auction site Classic, the car costs an average of $523,428. However, there are only five currently for sale on the site. However, Lamborghini made a 2022 version of the Countach, which is only a homologation of the automaker’s other rides. Still, it truly looks like a modern day version of the legendary sports car.

Overall, the Lamborghini Countach is one of the best sports cars of all time. Not only does it deliver extreme performance, but this is a car that has an ultra-dynamic look. It may not be everyone’s taste, but this is a vehicle that has stood the test of time.
