Meet the 2024 Honda Ridgeline With Its New TrailSport Trim
People shopping for the best trucks now have another option to add to the list. Enter the 2024 Honda Ridgeline, which has a few new tricks up its sleeve. The new Ridgeline is the truck we’ve known and loved for years now, but it’s much more capable of off-roading performance than ever before, thanks to a few key upgrades. However, it is in some ways like the 2023 Honda Ridgeline.
Here’s a look into the 2024 Honda Ridgeline.
It offers the same performance as the 2023 Honda Ridgeline
The 2024 Honda Ridgeline will be one of the best trucks for performance despite being unchanged from the 2023 Honda Ridgeline. According to MotorTrend, it uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower and has a torque of 262 lb-ft. This is an all-wheel drive truck that uses a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Regarding speed, the new model is a solid choice. Like the 2023 Honda Ridgeline, it accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 6.3 seconds. Though there are faster trucks, this is a solid figure. The 2024 Honda Ridgeline also isn’t bad for towing as it can carry up to 5,000 pounds. This makes using the truck to carry items for camping a breeze.
Introducing the Honda Ridgeline TrailSport
The TrailSport trim of Honda vehicles has been a staple on the market since 2022 when the automaker added it to the Passport. Essentially, the TrailSport is supposed to be a more rugged version of the vehicle. These upgrades should make it more off-roading-ready.
Honda has finally added it to the Ridgeline, but some early opinions say that it feels incomplete. However, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline does offer more capability in this regard. Some of the new features for the trim are:
- All-terrain tires (Honda-spec General Grabber A/T Sport rubber)
- Special suspension tune
- Drive modes for sand, snow, and mud
- Underbody protection (skid plates, steel plates to protect oil pan, etc
- Specific grille and Diffused Sky Blue exterior paint option
- Special badging
The problem some early opinions have expressed about the 2024 Honda Ridgeline is that it’s not different enough. For example, MotorTrend points out that the special tires may have a height of around 29.6 inches. However, this pretty much equals the regular Ridgeline and is less than some of its rivals.
Still, the TrailSport trim is a step up in some ways for off-roading. It may not be as solid as its rivals in this regard, but it’s more than adequate for people who would use it for light offloading.
The 2024 Honda Ridgeline has an updated interior
One of the differences between the 2023 Honda Ridgeline and the new one is its interior. It uses a larger 9-inch infotainment display with a faster processor. Not only that, but it supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline has an updated navigation system and a standard seven-inch digital gauge cluster.
The new Ridgeline is also one of the best trucks for comfort. For starters, it has a redesigned center console with a large integrated armrest. The center console also gas a rather large storage bin. As the automaker put it, “The new center-console storage bin can swallow a full-size tablet.” And the features don’t stop there. There’s much to appreciate about the redesigned interior of the Ridgeline.
Overall, some may wish that the powertrain had a performance upgrade, but the 2024 Honda Ridgeline still seems to be a solid truck. Its TrailSport trim may not be the best truck for off-roading, but it’s a good upgrade for those who want it.
