The 'Hot Wheels-Ferrari' iconic partnership is returning after a decade-long gap, as Mattel, Inc. dropped the bomb news at the 2025 Nuremberg International Toy Fair. This thrilling collaboration promises to deliver a new lineup of die-cast Ferrari classics and the latest models, including celebrated racing and road cars.

Hot Wheels released the 3D renders of their upcoming die-cast Formula 1 lineup only last week, where Ferrari's surprising absence was outright noticeable. But now we know why- as Mattel Inc. saved the moment for the epic reveal!

Hot Wheels to Launch Exciting New Die-Cast Ferrari Collection

In an official press release at the 2025 Nuremberg International Toy Fair, Mattel, Inc. announced its latest revived partnership with Italian luxury carmaker- Ferrari. The statement revealed that the collaboration will release an exciting collection of new die-casts adorned with the iconic Prancing Horse later this spring.

As part of the collaboration, Mattel penned that "the new product line will expand on the previous die-cast collection and will include limited edition models available through Mattel Creations, RC models and 1:64 scale die-casts available wherever Hot Wheels are sold globally." Building up on the previous models, it promises to deliver a "wide range of Ferrari classics and the newest and most technologically advanced models, including celebrated racing and road cars."

Regarding this legendary partnership, Roberto Stanichi, executive vice president of Hot Wheels, pictured this as an 'extra-special' and passionate project for his team and collectors alike.

"It was a passion project for the Hot Wheels team to deliver authentic visions of these iconic Ferrari models for the next generation of car lovers to enjoy while, at the same time, creating something extra special for collectors to appreciate."

- Roberto Stanichi.

Excited for the launch, he further continued by revealing:

"We look forward to seeing the world’s reaction to our vision for some of the most beautiful rolling works of art in automotive history, crafted by our team of design experts that can do it better than anyone else can."

- Roberto Stanichi.

Mattel says the first product will be released sometime this spring, and the first models will be available for pre-order on its official website.

A Decade-Long Wait for an Iconic Comeback

Hot Wheels and Ferrari- the two iconic brands have a prestigious history of collaboration that dates back decades. Since its inception in 1968, the die-cast giant has developed 26 previous Ferrari castings, many of which have become highly sought after by collectors.

Despite the success, Hot Wheels ceased the production of Ferrari models in 2014 due to an expired licensing agreement with the Italian automaker- meaning they no longer had the right to produce Ferrari models. Instead, Ferrari entered into a deal to partner exclusively with the Maisto and Bburago brands.

Nonetheless, this iconic reunion marks a new chapter that had to wait an entire decade to reignite the excitement and nostalgia for the hardcore fans of both brands. This comeback is poised to attract a new, younger generation of Ferrari fans into the Hot Wheels universe.

For those eager to add these collectables to their shelves, the spring launch will pull off the curtains for the collaboration that will expand throughout 2025 and beyond.
