Nissan has announced its lineup for the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show
Nowadays it looks like concepts from video games are making their way into real life more often then not. Earlier today (Oct. 6, 2015) Nissan went ahead and unveiled its lineup for the 44th annual Tokyo Motor Show and they’re bringing out the big guns by showcasing their Gran Turismo based concept turned into tangible concept car. The full name is called the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo and it’s a concept car developed in conjunction with Polyphony Digital Inc. For more than a year, this 784 HP concept has been making its way around racetracks all over the world on video game screens but now it will show its real face to the world.
This isn’t the first time the concept has showed up in the flesh as it did first debut earlier last year at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Nissan has been straight forward with the fact that they do plan to bring this concept to life in production form strongly hinting that you’re looking at elements of the next Nissan GT-R.
"“This is a look at what a high-performance supercar from Nissan may look like in the future.”"
The exterior has been painted a Fire Knight red body color and features Nissan’s signature V-motion grille. Compared to when it was first unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the red really pops and catches your attention. We’ll be curious to see what kind of specifics performance wise Nissan includes with the concept. Nissan has admitted they are hard at work on the GT-R’s replacement and rumors (some based on fact) have been circulating that the GT-R’s next powerplant will feature a hybrid setup compliments of the Williams Formula 1 team. All in all, you’ll be looking at power numbers touching 800 HP thanks to electric motor assist. What’s likely to remain from the R35 is the four-wheel drive powertrain and engine in an improved form.
