Watch These Mechanics Chase Down A Customer’s Stolen Volvo
By Paulo Acoba
These mechanics were out on their lunch break when they spotted the Volvo that one of their clients reported stolen. An epic chase ensues.
Update: The repair shop is Svenkraft!
When these two Svenkraft mechanics based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma signed the terms and conditions for their new jobs they didn’t know, “and other duties as assigned” included part-time vigilantes. According to Gabriel Ward from his Youtube uploaded earlier this week (Oct. 20, 2015) a client’s Volvo was recently stolen and while they where cruising around on their lunch break, they spotted the Volvo parked at a gas station. Fortunately for the customer (and the greater internet) their dash cam was rolling and Ward caught the entire 14-minute chase on video. Check out that awesome video in its entirety below!
Right from the get-go, it was easy to identify the Volvo. With paper plates, American Racing wheels and an attractive looking owner, spotting the Volvo in the wild posed no issue. It was just a matter of time.
The Volvo tries his best to obey all the traffic laws as the thief can clearly make out that someone is following them. The mechanics happen to be driving in a similar Volvo S60, so it’s pretty obvious to the thief that her jig was up. The two mechanics call up the owner and inform her that they’ve given pursuit and are calling the police. Shortly after, the finally do call the police as they give turn by turn directions of their location (which in hindsight they should’ve done in the first place, but that really doesn’t matter with how things turned out.)
After an intense chase through residential streets, they hit the interstate where speeds can increase dangerously. One Tulsa PD vehicle does show up but quickly disappears in a bid to get ahead of the pursuers but we never see that unit again. Finally, the chase ends in a shopping center when a Ford Explorer police vehicle takes over the chase as the car thief ditches the vehicle and finds out they’ve brought police dogs.
Our hat tip of the year goes out to both these mechanics and the police. Without them safely chasing the suspect, their client may have never gotten her car back. Rest assured some awards are on their way and five-star yelp reviews to be posted.
