Top 40 James Bond Vehicles Of All Time

#1- 1963 Aston Martin DB5
Appeared in: Goldfinger
Number one needs no introduction. Oftentimes ranked as the most popular movie car of all time, even more so than Doc Brown’s DeLorean, the Aston Martin DB5 certainly had the power, class and gadgetry thanks to Q-Branch to cement it as the iconic movie car of our modern era. And with only a little over 1,000 DB5’s ever produced, it’s already a rare car on its own right.
Initially, the DB5 was only supposed to be outfitted with a smokescreen but crew members added their suggestions that simply couldn’t be ignored. Director Guy Hamilton himself added the revolving license plate as he had been getting lots of parking tickets and his grandson suggested the ejector seat. A nail dispenser was initially going to be added, but since that would be too easy to emulate in real life. An oil slick was subbed ala SpyHunter. The list of gadgets are as follows.
- Rotating plates
- (2) short barrelled machine guns
- Smoke screen
- Oil ejecting device
- Two Water cannons
- Bullet proof steel plate covering the rear window
- Radar
- Extendable rams up front
- Tire cutters
- Ejector Seat
- Radio Phone
- and Champagne Refrigerator
Although the DB5 might’ve been crashed by Bond in Goldfinger, it was fixed right up by Q and used again in Thunderball (and Goldeneye…and Skyfall.)
In Goldfinger, the actual DB5 prototype was used with another standard car employed for stunts.
