AOG Fans: Here’s why you should apply to be Fansided Fan of the Year
By Paulo Acoba
Imagine texting your friend asking them to take a peek at their Sports Illustrated on P.15 and the shock when they text back, “Hey fam, you made it!” That could be you.
Fansided, in partnership with Sports Illustrated, is looking for their Fansided Fan of the Year. If you can list the top five drivers and the amount of points they have in the 2015 Nascar Sprint Cup series or know who finished 15th in the 2015 Formula 1 USGP, then you might have what it takes to be Fansided’s Fan of the year.

Basically, you’ll submit a two-minute video or a 200-word essay on why you should be considered Fansided Fan of the Year, and if you’re chosen you’ll get to be featured in an upcoming Sports Illustrated article. Each finalist will receive a one-year subscription to Sports Illustrated and will be interviewed and profiled on FanSided.com. The grand prize winner will be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine!
Just think, if you’re a finalist, every week you’ll get a fresh issue of Sports Illustrated in the mail and that way when the power goes out, you’ll still be up to date on the latest sports around happening that week. And if you get to be featured in Sports Illustrated, imagine all the bragging rights and sports cred you’ll have amongst your mates. Not to mention all the likes on Facebook and Instagram when you link to the article and screenshot your name.
So if you’re Jeff Gordon’s number one super fan or know the starting grid to the 2015 Indy 500 by heart, take a bit of time to apply and tell your story!
