Know your Car Memes: “This Is A Green Car”

#ThisIsAGreenCar may be the hottest new car meme of 2015 and when FormulaDerp posts their own memes, you know it’s about to go down.
Car memes pop up like Civics for sale on craigslist and as quick as they’re here, people move onto more popular ones. The latest car meme to pop up in the past 24 hours is called #ThisCarIsGreen or “This Car Is Green” and involves either people posting up cars that are green, taking existing pictures of cars and turning the background a shade of green or generally poking fun at the latest internet video turned viral on the internet involving one Sammy Speed a.k.a. @thatboostedchick.

Earlier yesterday (Nov. 9, 2015) one of her friends made and posted up a video of Sammy Speed showcasing her modded 2008 Subaru WRX and her “crib.” 40 seconds into the video Speed starts giving a description of her car and states, “This is a green car” which has been unofficially nominated as the most obvious observation of 2015.
When the rest of the internet heard that statement, they pretty much ran wild with it all over Instagram. Here are some of the more notable examples.
And there’s even a dedicated Instagram parodying the entire video.
So that’s pretty much it. If you’re going to make some bold statements on Youtube, you’d better be ready to back it up with some reputation or at least edit the video well enough to make it seem like you know what you’re talking about.
