When you’ve been racing pretty much at the back of the pack all season, you’ve got to do anything you can to get a photo on that coveted podium.

It looks like the boys from McLaren-Honda were seriously hamming it up for the cameras as they completed qualifying in preparation for the 2015 Brazilian GP. According to Formula 1 on their qualifying results earlier today (Nov. 11, 2015) Jenson Button got into Q2 but failed to qualify into Q2 with a final grid place of 17th, a good two seconds from the lead pack.

His teammate Fernando Alonso failed to get into Q1 at all. And both drivers took to running around the grid and the track taking epic photos that included the Spaniard taking a lawn chair and literally sunbathing and both the Brit and Nando heading up to the podium to take a selfie. Take a look at all the social media rolling in chronicling the epic shenanigans below.

According to reports, it looks like the Spainard failed to advance once again due to his engine seizing up during the start of Saturday’s qualifying hour. Also, it looks like Jenson Button’s stint didn’t seem to have the pace needed to qualify closer to the front of the pack.

Jenson Button, always the optimist, according to SkySports took the revival of Ferrari back from a fruitless 2014 season, as a good sign for the fledgling partnership between McLaren and Honda.

Hopefully the luck for McLaren-Honda and their power units will turn the tide for the 2016-2017 season and will see both on the podium foreal rather than as a joke.
