This Is It: Barack Obama Drives A 1963 Corvette Stingray
By Paulo Acoba
Barack Obama appears on the first episode of Season 7 of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee and drives a 1963 Corvette Stingray in silver blue.
Earlier in the week we got word according to the official Season 7 trailer that Barack Obama himself was going to appear in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and earlier Wednesday night that episode made its premier. Head on over to Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee and revel in what might be one of the coolest guests to ever drive a Stingray.
The episode opens up with Jerry Seinfeld ringing up the President asking if he’d like to possibly get a cup of coffee.
"Jerry Seinfeld: “Yes, may I speak with the President please?”Jerry Seinfeld: “Yes, may I speak with the President please?”Barack Obama: “Speaking…”Jerry Seinfeld: Sir, may I compliment you on cutting on that red tape in Washington. So are you still up for a coffee?Barack Obama: “Why don’t you come on by. It’s 1600 Pennsylvania…”Jerry Seinfeld:”I know.”"

This particular 1963 Corvette Stingray looks pretty much all original in Silver Blue with a blue interior equipped with a 327 cubic inch V8. Depending on the particular engine you got power, hovered anywhere from 250-340 HP (although in this particular episode we don’t really know.) Equipped with that iconic split rear window, there are few cars that hold that iconic status quite like this particular Corvette.
Although Jerry and the President go all but a couple of meters in the Stingray, for a brief shining moment, Jerry Seinfeld and Barack Obama do indeed ride and drive together. After their “drive,” Jerry hops into what the POTUS fondly refers to as “The Beast”( a.k.a. the Presidential Limo) and they both enjoy a sit-down and exchange pleasantries inside the bomb proof stretch. The rest of the episode revolves around them sharing a bit of coffee in the White House kitchen. And finally at the very end we’re treated to Obama himself taking the wheel of that ’63 Stingray and having a brief, yet exciting little test drive.
