Leaked: 2017 Volvo V90 Is A Svelte Swedish Full-Size Wagon
By Paulo Acoba
Full exterior shots of the 2017 Volvo V90 wagon have hit the web before its official debut at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show.
When it comes to functional wagons with Swedish swagger and class beating ergonomics, none can beat Volvo to the punch. According to AutoCar, before its official reveal at the 2016 GIMS, a couple of leaked photos of the 2017 Volvo V90 have surfaced and they all do Volvo’s wagon history justice. Take a peek at some of those photos in the gallery below.
It’s not like the motoring public hasn’t seen pictures of this V90 before. Volvo infamously leaked a scaled sized model of the V90 in China and the Volvo V90 was caught undisguised in one garage in Sweden.
Take a front look at the V90 and it’s nearly identical to the S90. A side profile and rear view will see clear inspiration taken from the Volvo Concept Estate shown at the 2014 GIMS. We’ve included photos of those below.

Like the S90, this Volvo V90 will make use of Volvo’s Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA for short.) And like the XC90, you can expect a inline-four cylinder stuffed underneath the hood in varying degrees of boost from turbochargers or combination supercharger-turbocharger.
Although no photos of the interior have hit the web, you can look to the Volvo S90 for clues as to what that will look like.
Initial Off-the-cuff reviews have noted some styling points worth mentioning. For one, those lighting bolt rear taillights add a splash of character to an otherwise ordinary rear.

It’s a handsome design through and through and should do well in getting a couple of Americans stuck in an SUV rut to reevaluate their choices when it comes to vehicles with plenty of cargo space.
