2017 Acura MDX Gets Chiseled And Aggressive New Look
By Paulo Acoba
Acura went ahead and unveiled a teaser of what their 2017 Acura MDX will look like.
Acura is wasting no time in setting their products apart from the market by bringing bold new designs that follow somewhat closely to their Acura Precision Concept. Earlier Thursday, Acura went ahead and unveiled a teaser of it’s all new 2017 Acura MDX which is due for a full redesign.
Acura plans to unveil the all-new model at the 2016 New York Auto Show which kicks off at the end of March and into April. Check out the chiseled new look of the Acura below.
According to Acura,
"“We are sharpening our focus on the Precision Crafted Performance DNA of the Acura brand and the 2017 MDX will integrate new styling elements and powertrain technology that takes us another step in that direction,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc."
Although this particular teaser image doesn’t follow Acura Precision Concept to a tee, this SUV does call back to the concept’s edgy front design. If you pay attention to the hood and grill, all the lines are crisp and defined. Around the profile, all the over fenders are bulging from the sides in a clear show of power and strength. If character is what Acura was going for, they’ve certainly evoked some type of strong emotion with this teaser.

What most car enthusiasts will be curious about is how this bold new look matches what’s under the hood and in the way it handles its heft and power. Acura did say reengineered. Acura already equipped the MDX with a nine-speed automatic and its iconic Super Handling All-Wheel Drive last year.
For more details, we’ll have to wait a couple more weeks until the NY Auto Show.
