Genovation’s All-Electric Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 Is Faster Than A Tesla

It’s no secret that Telsa has an overwhelming hand in the electric car world. Its P90D is blisteringly quick with its ability to get to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and is just as fast at the top end with a top speed of 155 mph. It is safe to assume, then, that the P90D is the fastest electric car in the world. Well sorry Tesla, but that record now belongs to Genovations’ electric Chevrolet Corvette.

The Genovation eXtreme Electric (GXE) hit an incredible and almost unbelievable 186.8 mph on the runway of the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL. While an electric Corvette may seem like a blasphemous thing, Genovation made sure that the American sports car had the proper specs to hold up to high-performance machines off the line, as well.

Besides being able to hit 187 mph, the Genovation GXE all-electric Corvette can get to 60 mph in 3 seconds and that’s down to the fact that the sports car has over 700 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. That’s nearly as quick as a Tesla and faster than one. Thanks to the run, the Genovation GXE goes into the International Mile Racing Association’s (IMRA) record books under the title of “Top Speed Street Legal Electric Car.”

The Genovation GXE all-electric Corvette sounds like an amazing thing and that’s because it is. Interested in getting one? Well, Genovation offers the GXE at a steep $330,000 or $290,000 if you already have a Corvette C6 Z06 in the garage. No one said performance was cheap.
