Alfa Romeo is the brand for petrolheads according to former Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson. The former Top Gear trio loved the Alfa Romeo brand so much, they dedicated an entire episode to their adventures with different Alfas. Richard Hammond bought the Spider. Jeremy Clarkson bought the equivalent of a U.S.-spec Milano. James May bought an Alfa that was never available in the United States, the GTV. Now, we may finally get the chance of a new Alfa Romeo of our own.
What makes Alfa Romeo so great? Aside from their amazing Formula One pedigree during its infancy, the brand is synonymous with being a passion-filled brand. Italian styling wraps around daily driveable cars like moving art work. Their vehicles are known for having tremendous character, or as Jeremy Clarkson put it, “…as good as a car can be, briefly.”
Alfa Romeo wants to bring back the passion the U.S. market with their latest Giulia.
The Giulia and Giulia Ti models come with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of 276 horsepower and 295-lb.ft. of torque. That power is sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission, to either a rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive setup. Greater efficiency is achieved with a lightweight, carbon-fiber driveshaft and dual-exhaust set up.
Estimated 0-60 mile per hour times are around 5.5 seconds with an estimated top speed of 149 miles per hour.
The latest from Alfa Romeo, is just one of the many attractive models at the same relative price range as an entry-level BMW, Mercedes, or Audi product. Another competitor would be the Tesla Model 3, which is to debut at the end of March.

People looking for a new car in the general price range have a lot of choices. It may be easier to consider the more common BMW and Mercedes Benz models, or be more environmentally friendly with the Tesla Model 3. But, for those that love the distinct look of the Giulia, look no further. It has the looks and performance to compete against the world’s best.
